INTERSKI INTERNATIONAL began in 1951 in Zurs, Austria, as a congress for European alpine nations to share techniques and teaching methods. It has since grown to represent over 40 nations globally, offering a variety of ongoing platforms and hosting the world’s largest snow sports education Congress every four years to unite top snow sports instructors. Through these activities, INTERSKI brings the world of snow sports together.

Sustainable snow sports for all
Plastic Waste in the Mountains Plastic waste in the mountains is threatening our ecosystem – and our love for snow sports. INTERSKI INTERNATIONAL, ISIA and IAESS have partnered with the United Nations Environment Programme – Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Convention and signed a Memorandum of Understanding, with a 5-year commitment to develop education programs to help address plastic waste in the mountains. Sports for Nature As an outdoor sports organization we are committed to enjoying and sharing snow sports in a sustainable way. We work closely together with the UNEP “Sports for Nature” initiative to raise awareness within the snow sport industry and to contribute to its protection and restoration. Partnership Opportunities to Further Snow Sports There are tremendous opportunities for research and study of all aspects of snow sports such as pedagogy, technical performance and sustainability/tourism in snow sports and mountain communities. INTERSKI sees education as a tool for positive change and is open to partnering with organizations that share this goal.
DEI Charter Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is increasingly important in various countries around the world. IAESS and INTERSKI worked together to develop a high level statement along with member countries and are actively supporting member countries to develop, and share, their own strategies and develop a community to share learning and best practices.
Online Seminar Series

Congress
